Re: Frog survey
That's funny in an ironic sort of way, but I am a big supporter of state fish and wildlife agencies because they are not the federal government. I generally buy hunting licenses and stamps in multiple states every year in an effort to support them. If it weren't for the state game people I would hav...

Malamute, I do that for rifle shooting too, but it doesn't work so well for upland hunting. These days I hunt quail about 20:1 over big game. I still love big game, but its working your butt off for one shot, then working your butt off to get the meat out after the shot. When I'm quail hunting the d...

My go to upland gun is a CZ Bobwhite in 20 ga. CZ makes a good gun, but some can be a bit oversprung. The 410 is tempting because they are so light and slender in the hand. Like others here, I grew up with a 410. It was a great squirrel gun, but I'm not enough of a wingshot to be comfortable with on...

I'll be interested to hear what you think of the magazine release button on that gun. They seem poorly placed and prone to getting hit at inopportune times to leave a full magazine laying in the field. Is the release positive enough to keep that from happening. Otherwise, these look like a really fu...

If your mesh is small enough that a weasel can't get through and your set up is open topped with two feet of wire mesh, then something is either jumping the fence or is flying over. Owls generally rip the heads off and then pluck the breast. Mesocarnivores will generally just start eating and swallo...

Evening folks, I recently acquired a 1954 Win 94 that has that slightly annoying habit of popping the lever and locking block down slightly when fired. Thanks, Ben. I just did a little Google-fu. It looks like the rim diameter for 30-30 and 38-55 are 0.001" bigger that the 303, but the issue would be the base diameter of the brass. From what I've seen the 303S is 0.442", while the 38-55 and 30-30 are smaller at 0.422". Would is have ...
