Re: MT & WY fishing Bear Protection?
.357 very marginal, 9mm useless. Spray usually in a holster so slow to get into operation and get the safety off. 41 or 44 if you are practiced and good which comes from practice simulating getting into operation quickly and without prior notice

Re: Bear Spray versus Firearms
If you will carry an 870 while hunting in addition to your hunting rifle you will be very busy dropping one and getting the other into operation. As for spray how about this: I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

Re: Who can regulate the sights on a single action revolver?
STOP- Before you do anything to the revolver get to someone with a Ransom Rest and let them fire it with whatever loads you will use the most. Once you know where it is hitting you will know if it is you or the rev. Elevation either way can only be corrected with the front site. Deflection can be co...

Re: How about a discussion on the 444 Marlin?
Might as well ask here. No one else knows. I have a Numrich roller barrel stamped .444 Creedmore. Lots of useless comments but no one knows what this is. Standard .444 Marlin round chambers only part way.

Mossberg 464 lever gun
Just got one in that when the trigger is pulled (with safety on or off) the firing pin does not even dent the primer. Anyone had any experience with these?

Re: Wolves coming to CA
An underhanded way to eliminate hunting as the wolves will take care of the game if allowed to multiply. No hunting; many then won't want guns.

Re: holster rig opinions
When you straddle your old saddle use a crossdraw or shoulder holster with a thong. If roping is involved leave your rifle and handgun home. Just carry a knife in case.

Re: Snowshoes ?
That was a good buy. Bear Paw style are for using in brush but as they are usually wider than trail models you have to swing your leg out to the side a little when walking. This will remind you you have muscles you don't normally use. The main thing to remember when using any style is your foot has ...

Re: Midway and "sales"
I have had a FFL, retail and gun repair business since 1980. I got a letter from Midway that I was no longer elgible for their dealer catalog since I did not have any wording in my business name like "guns, sporting", etc.

Re: polyfill filler
A long time ago we used toilet paper until some came out the muzzle with a spark on it and started a grass fire. I used corn meal in my 40-70 Sharps but obviously did not have it compressed enough as it mixed with the powder while rolling around on my dashboard so I ended up with a dud. Now I use Pu...

Get and give receipts unless you are dealing in stolen items. The BATF does not know what happens between individuals regardless of some advice you have been given

Re: polyfill filler
I have used Puff-lon in rifle and pistol cartridges w/o any problems. I think the bullet has to compress the filler when seated so I fill case to the top. I have seen toilet paper used and a piece came out the muzzle with a spark on it. This could start a grass fire is not a popular thing to have ha...
