Marlin bolt removal

As I was taking my pre-safety 336 Marlin in .35 Remington apart for cleaning, the bolt closed on me right after I had removed the lever. Any suggestions as to how to remove the bolt which has locked in the forward position?

My wife gets VERY upset if anything happens to her "hennies", so the dead poss was well worth the price of the bullet, had I paid for it. Since I got some of my department's duty rounds when I retired, it didn't cost me a thing and gained us peace of mind....

With 30 rounds, if it feeds reliabily, it might make a good home defense piece with HP rounds for the recoil sensitive. Bill Jordan wanted S&W to come out with one in the '60's for the J-frame, but nothing ever came of it. I recall he wanted it all aluminum except the barrel.....

jdad, mine looks just like that, without the tang sight. Many thanks. Now if I can just get it to feed properly. I totally stripped, cleaned and lightly lubed the action, but it still tries to send the rounds in at about a 45 degree angle....maybe the spring in the internal magazine insert??

I have an early (SN 2XXX) that could use some work, as it is balky about feeding rounds from the elevator to the chamber. It will shoot once the round is chambered, but I have to work the action several times to get it to feed. Anyone know a 'smith who could work on this?

IIRC, Both characters Reed and Malloy in "ADAM-12" had his grips on their Model 15 S&W's in the clamshell swivel holsters. I think LAPD had just standardized the 4" version over the old 6" M14 Smith....
