Re: This Aero Precision offering will upset some folks...
Seems John Marlin's designs are the ones to clone these days...Henry, S&W, Aero, Rossi's long action, and of course Ruger.
I'm okay with the rifle but don't want one. I think it would make more sense in revolver calibers for it's purpose.

Kimber does recommend a break in. I don’t remember how many rounds, maybe 250. I did mine in one afternoon with steel cased Wolf which probably isn’t what Kimber had in mind. I had no problems. But I wonder if some of their bad reviews is guys taking a new pistol out the box and getting malfunctions...

My first experience firing 45 acp was in a Blackhawk. May have been my first firing of a single action, but definitely first for a centerfire single action.
I have some weird shooting firsts. My first 38, 357, and 45 Colts were in rifles. First 22 in a revolver. First 30-30 in a single shot

Is this 500 too long for a 1886? Or would a 1895 be more appropriate? It is almost three inches long, so about the length of the old Mauser battle cartridges. I would shoot it in say a Ruger No. 1, but in a handgun I think I would pass. The .500 is too short for an 1886. I run both a 50 Alaskan and...

Yes I think Tulsi could bring Trump some votes and is not likely to turn any significant number away that are already inclined to vote for him. 348 and 356 are probably the closest in SAAMI cartridges for a tube fed gun. A 33 on a 444 Marlin case should get you there too, may have to shorten cases a tad.

When growing up in the 70s and 80s, I heard the term pistol to refer to any handgun. The gummy tips do have a substantially higher BC in smaller rifle calibers with the higher SD like 25 to 35 caliber. The handgun version or even the big rifle versions in 44 and 458 just do not bear this out. Plus, weights are limited because of length limitations, which introduces the need for diff...

I have been seeing 1892 Browning pattern guns with aluminum receivers out of Turkey on YouTube. Given how the 92 locks via two steel lugs on either side the bolt rear and against the rear of the receiver, do you guys think the aluminum will hold up or give headspace issues eventually?

I don’t think it will hurt anything to seat the bullet deeper and crimp because, as you can see the Hornady brass on the left has no crimp. As long as your pressure doesn’t run too high from the additional compression. FWIW Hornady recommends brass be trimmed to 1.240” for their pointy 140s. I thin...
