Re: Another one gone, Ontario Knife Company
Lots of their blades were kitchen knives or sheath knives in 1095 steel. Terrible for pocket knives, but good for kitchen work if dried and oiled. Great for sheath knives or swords because of the flexibility. 1095 holds the record in Japan for most Tatami mats cut in a single stroke. Flexibility is ...

For the past 10 or 12 years I've carried a Kershaw "LEEK", mdl # 1660ST. Simple, still American made (last I checked), durable and good support. Early on I broke a lock and it was sent right out... with a spare! The steel is Swedish steel made specifically for that knife. 14C28 steel. Sha...

Pre exam Friday to see if I am a candidate for TERP procedure. No cancer. Sort of weird seeing parts on screen that you don't even look at on a deer you have killed. Last CT scan showed gallstones. Waiting and watching. No symptoms. All cancers so far have been on my face. 3 different Baylor trained...

154 CM is good steel. I can't keep my Kancept experimental knife with S35V steel sharp. Bought it at the big blade show in Ft Worth. Last day and they sold it. No name or number to the design. My Spyderco Endura with S30V is sharp enough to shave with and holds a good edge, but it is big. My Hofner ...

In 1986, basic training, I had the only M16 left in the armory. Everyone else had an A1. That thing was worn out completely and rattled like a chihuahua's teeth chattering in 30 degree weather. It couldn't hit anything at 300 yards. Same hold, first shot might be 3 meters left, next shot straight on...

In my area, shots are rarely over about 100 yards. At 100 yards, I am not too concerned with having enough power. If you cannot get more than .357 Mag, it doesn't matter. I am more concerned with the people using 7mmRem Mag at 100 yards. Overpenetration and damage to lots of things out past what you...

If I go without, no headache or craving. I just like the taste, feel, and heat of the morning cup. I drink it black.
No Orange Juice for me unless my sugar is really low, like in the 50s. It yanks my sugar level up too high otherwise. Anything above 65 and I am good.

I am not real familiar with all the old cartridges. Seems as if they were pretty effective when one looks at them with consideration for the technology of the time. I am familiar with the .45-70, and it still works well within its limits.

RIA makes a 10mm 1911 pattern with grips which do not get slick when wet like Glocks do. OK, it is only 8 shot, and has a hammer. Mine is more accurate than I am, but lots of guns are anymore. Price was less than a Hlock when I got mine.
