Re: Reliable but not Pretty (just like me) got any like that...?

My Colt 1991A1 (made in 1991) and a 1977 Ruger Blackhawk 357mag. Those two look pretty rough after many years of riding around in the tackle box or Jeep, but have always been 100%. For the last few years I've been thinking of having the Colt re-parked for nothing more than rust protection. But I kee...

+1 on the Knoxx Spec ops stock w/ recoil buffer built in. Have had one on my Mossy 500 for several years now. Allowing a shorter LOP is perfect and recoil from 3" slugs feels like a big push and not uncomfortable or painful at all. So far I've put about 400rds of slugs, 00 and 000 buck, in both...

I've taken a few Florida hogs with my Win 94 Trapper 357mag with the 180gr Hornady silhouette over 12.7gr of 2400.

Side shot to the head always put them down on the spot. No muss no fuss. Just dead.

If Marlin or Henry don't work for you - you're pretty much left with a Browning or Winchester. I wonder what being hit by a .44 Magnum, if you are the size of a chipmunk, translates into for a human-sized target? A howitzer? I got one of them today - appx 4oz - so if I figured it right, a 240gr pill is about 1/7 of its weight. I weigh 175lb - so 1/7 would equal 25 pounds This is a 25 pounder...

I have several 22 lever and semi auto rifles. This one, a 1957 Mountie, is the favorite - by a very large margin. It's neither the smoothest, nor the most accurate - but within 50yds - tree and ground squirrels don't have a chance. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e307/meanc/gun%20stuff/p_00168.jpg

While not for the purist, I'll say Ruger's plastic parts will likely outlast us all. They don't affect shape, form, function or accuracy. So I'm good with plastic. Plus, a scope looks a lot better on the 10/22s than on my levers, which means I'm a lot more accurate with them. I have three that shoot...
