Take a trip to your local barber shop and bag up all the hair that's been cut and spread it around the lawn.

Also if it's a wooded park, you could put plant a clover field or even put up a feeder fairly close off your property.

Re: Marlin firearms; mainly lever action

Since you already have a 30-30 I'd look at one of the pistol caliber levers.

Like others have stated, an older 39a really is one of the best Marlins to have, then there is the 44mag, 45colt, 357mag.

Re: Ruger M96 .22 Mag - back in production?

Different versions/configurations may come and go, but barring a USRAC type fiasco, me thinks the base model 10/22 is going to be around for a long while to come. If they are bringing back the 96/22 in Mag then maybe there's hope they'll bring back the 10/22 mag. Luckily I've still got my 9422Mag an...

Glad to hear someone actually shooting theirs and enjoying it. They have a high fun factor and make a heck of a good turkey and squirrel gun to boot. I've got one of the first models with the cross-bolt and no choke but at 50yds I can keep slugs in a 3" grp with the open sights all day long. Th...

My hunting has been limited to coyote, hog, white tail, and mule deer. So far, the 30-30 has been good for whatever I've shot with it, from 30yds to 205yds. Never had to shoot twice with it and never had to track anything more than 50yds. The only time anything ever got more than 50yds away from me ...

I saw that too.

I was considering getting it a week or two ago, he had it listed on a couple of other Florida boards, but then found a 336CS closer to home.

I passed on it mainly because of the half mag. The 336 at least holds 6 in the tube and I believe that one is three.

$300 seems a fair price.

Don't know what state your BIL resides, but unless it's CA, NJ, DC, there is no registration of firearms. So more than likely only he and relatives know it even exists, especially considering its age.

With that said, more than likely only he and relatives will even know it's not here.
