Re: ot- Kayaks / questions
If you get a kayak and your wife tries it, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up getting a second one. ;-) There seems to be a trend with women of a "certain age" getting into kayaking. My wife has a number of friends who paddle kayaks. Funny thing, most of them own two. My wife wanted a p...

Re: OT Birthday, Anniversary, and Father's Day all in 9 days
Since you asked.
Our first child was born on our first wedding anniversary which was Father's Day that year. Funny though, I don't think our anniversary (and his birthday) has fallen on Father's Day more than three or four times in 30 years.
Again congrats!

At one time the 760 in 30-06 was a very common rifle in the Pennsylvania deer woods. I think the .308 carbines usually go for a little more money than the more common '06 rifles.

I'm not sure of the history of the phrase, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that most people who use it nowadays are trying to avoid acknowledging that instant in time that B.C. and A.D. are referring to. "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,.."

Good shooting! You didn't waste any time putting that Marlin to work. What kind of turnout did you have? I was thinking of trying to make that shoot, but worked instead. The matches in the northern half of the state usually don't start until May. Maybe I'll make the April shoot.

Sixgun,
When I wasn't shooting the steel I was usually sitting at the picnic tables shooting the breeze with some fellas from Indiana County. One of them was using a 444 Marlin. I should have made a point of introducing myself. There's always next year.

I really like the rifle type FCD. The pistol FCD that comes with the 44 magnum set shaves lead on the .432" bullets I'm trying to use. I may give the 44/40 FCD a try as it is a regular stock item. If it doesn't work out I can always go the "custom" route. Even that isn't overly expens...

Question for AJMD429
Hello, You mentioned in Marlin32's thread about reloading that you use Lee's 44-40 Factory Crimp Die for crimping your 44 magnum loads. How does that work for you? Do you have to make any adjustments for length? I think the 44-40 is a fuzz longer than the 44 mag. What diameter bullets do you use? I ...
