I am huge fan of powerful leverguns especially 338 ME however the brass is becoming more and more rare. Aside from 338 ME what is ballistically similar to 338ME but can be made from commercially available brass? This includes accepted wildcats.

This is our newest addition. I took a chance and bought him from an auction website.......and got hosed . The ad was almost completely lies but I had already paid for him and drove 4 hours to get him so I brought him home
I hope he works out. He is mighty pretty and seems good natured.

300 grain XTP with a "paco" load of H110. This load is FEARSOME and gives about 5ft of straight line penetration. Tested it on a 1# bologna pack covered with 1/4" thick leather backed by 1/2" particle board and then penetrsted 6-1 gallon water jugs and then exited into my back wa...

I have not had any issues with gummy tips fragmenting any more than other pistol cal projectiles being pushed to rifle velocities. Heck, even xtps start to come apart when fired at rifle speeds

If a fella wanted to have a levergun built for 338 Marlin Express......any idea what caliber base gun would be required? I already have an MXLR in 338 but am thinking something custom would be fun.

He was an abused horse. I took him to keep the owner from shooting him and we bonded. It took 2 years before he would let me ride him or catch him loose in the field. I am, literally, the only person who could handle him. My wife was terrified of him but we were buds and I darn sure am gonna miss him

With the rising popularity of pistol caliber leverguns why hasnt there been a similar rise in the variety of "gummy tip" projectiles? Hornady only makes 140s for 357...why no 125, 115 or even 158? The better ballistic coefficient seems like a no brainer for tubular mags. Heck, a 165 grain ...

I worked up a wicked rifle load for my winchester 1892 357 mag today. I am using 38 +p brass (annealed), H110 and the montana bullet works 160 grain hcfn-gc. I hit 2125 avg velocity (at 7 yards) from a 24" barrel. Thats 1604 ftlbs of energy with no pressure signs at all!!!!
