thanks for all the info guys, Not sure which way to go yet, I would only have it zeroed in at 100 yards or so, no super long distances and would probably just hold over for any other distance instead of adjusting sight....I am a bit afraid to get the Lyman non adjustable, incase my front site is way...

Which Tang Sight would fit my Rifle?
Well im looking into shooting my Winchester 1894 alittle more often, however I want to try out a rear tang sight for it, every one ive seen seems to take a bigger front screw than what is installed already on my 1894 and I do not want to alter my rifle permanently, so Im not sure if this is possible...

Now you guys have me intrigued, never thought about the rear sight not being original...Is there anywhere I can go for reference? It will never be sold, but id be curious to see what is and isn't original on it. ...and that little notch on the top front of the receiver, after looking at some picture...
