I use 8 grains of red dot under that rcbs bullet and an old winchester mold for a 165 grain plain base. No fillers or anything. Little slower than you want though, about 1350 FPS, although the accuracy is outstanding. My sons and I use this for off hand prctice at 2" swinger (two inch) at 65 ya...

Have you shot it at all? I was curious about whether they feed reliably, accuracy etc.. I find the idea really interesting, although I have to admit it works pretty good as a 35 rem.

Rechambering 35 rem marlin 336 to 358 win
A local gunsmith claims to have very good luck rechambering marlins to 358 winchester. All he does is cut the chamber . Has anyone heard of this being done? any feeding or safety issues?

I have used 10.0 grains of red dot with a lee 158 grain SWC gas check bullet in my 336 and it feeds and shoots just fine

Well I would probably sell it for 1200 dollar range. I would throw in a mold and sizer de, 3k gas checks plus I have 200 new brass and couple hundred bullets for that price. It's a hell of a nice rifle, I hate to sell it, but my buddy is offering an extremely nice 1911 , so something else has to go....
