Re: Winchester 94 switch out question
They were building the rifle & gave up most of the way through it. The internals they bought were for the 44-40 & 30-30. Thats what they were planning on chambering these in before I got them.

Winchester 94 switch out question
Greetings all! I have recently purchased two winchester 94 recievers with all the internal parts (bolts, carriers, loading gates, etc.) but no barrel or mag tube. One is in 44-40 & the other is 30-30. I already have completed rifles in both calibers so here is my question: What, if any, calibers...

Re: Marlin 1894 44mag convert to 44-40 question
Since green mountain barrels aren't making Marlin barrels anymore & Numrich is sold out, anyone have a place to check for a marlin 1894 in 45 colt?

Re: Marlin 1894 44mag convert to 44-40 question
I contacted them & they apparently discontinued making barrels for Marlins all together for a while now. Any other suggestions for companies?

Re: Marlin 1894 44mag convert to 44-40 question
I contacted a rebarreling specialist at Redman's rifling, he said you cannot bore out a 44mag to 45lc because they are not far enough apart in calibers. I may be sticking with my 44-40 idea unless Numrich gets one in stock. Green mountain barrels are just too expensive.

Re: Marlin 1894 44mag convert to 44-40 question
Thanks for the idea Nate, hadn't thought of that. Probably be close to the same price of a barrel plus installation. I'll have to check on that.

Re: Marlin 1894 44mag convert to 44-40 question
Thank you very much for the replies. Any idea where I could get a 45 colt barrel for my marlin 1894? I wanted to go that route initially but I could never find one. Numrich has the been out for a while

Marlin 1894 44mag convert to 44-40 question
Greetings! I purchased a gutted Marlin 1894 reciever with barrel chambered in 44 Mag. I'd like to re-barrel it in 44-40. My question is this, as I purchase parts to reassemble this, is the breech bolt assembly for a 44mag usable with a 44-40 barrel? How many other parts are interchangable? Any infor...

Marlin XLR 410 Shotgun
Hello all!
This may be a stupid question but I figured I'd ask it anyway. I have a Marlin XLR 410 shotgun but I was just curious if it would be possible to shoot a 45 colt from it? I know its a smooth bore so why would I want to but I figured I'd ask anyway. Thanks

Winchester 94 Trigger
I have a winchester 94 and the trigger, even when cocked, is extremely loose. It has play forward and even a little side to side. It shoots fine and the trigger does not effect the functionality of the gun, I guess my question to everyone is, is there a way I can stop the trigger from being so loose...

Re: Barrel question with a win 94
I've been working on acquiring parts for my 94 but one question stand out in my mind; Do I need post or pre 64 parts? I purchased the barrel from Numrich in 38-55 26" octagon barrel but as for the tube mount that goes under the barrel and the tenon screw that secures the forend nose cap, which ...

Re: Barrel question with a win 94
very nice pokey!
If I was to get the Numrich 38-55 octagon rifle barrel, which forend wood should I get? What length? There are so many choices and I don't want to purchase the wrong one. Thanks

Re: Barrel question with a win 94
I guess my next question is, does anyone want to purchase a carbine round barrel in 32 special (top eject) or 44-40 (angle eject), blued and brand new for a winchester 94? I even have a used barrel for a Remington Rolling Block in 30-40 krag if anyone is interested. Not sure what they are worth so l...

Re: Barrel question with a win 94
I believe the curved butt plate means rifle. Based on what you all are saying it looks like I'm getting the 38-55 with a full octagon and full mag tube. Can anyone direct me on where I can find a mag tube for it? I like the barrels on gunpartscorp so I might grab one of those unless someone here has...

Re: Barrel question with a win 94
The receiver is brand new never been used so it has never had an original barrel to blow up. I appreciate the info, I already have a 94 in 30-30 so I'm trying to finish this one in a different caliber, if I need to modify the guts to accommodate the caliber I will. I'm strongly considering the 32 sp...

Barrel question with a win 94
photo.JPG I recently purchased a Winchester 94 receiver with amazing case harding but it's missing a barrel. I need to decide which caliber to get this rifle barreled in. I have two brand new 94 barrels in 32 win special and 44-40, each are carbine length round barrels; here is my questions, which ...
