Re: Northern Idaho

I live in Harrison, ID. It is just 20 miles north of St. Maries. Do not let anyone scare you about the folks here as they are just about the best in the country. Taxes are just not that bad. The wife and I live on Lake Coeur d'Alene in a 6000 Sq Ft home on 5 acres and my property taxes are $2700 per...

Re: Levergun Collection (photos)

What nice collections. Here is mine. IMG_3337.JPG My lever collection is composed of mostly 1892's, almost all with button magazines. I have a smattering of 73's, 94's, and pumps (90's and 06's). It warms my heart to see all of the levers that we all collect, and there is nothing like placing them i...

Re: new to lever guns

In an earlier post I indicated that my Boom Room and my home had a security system so that when I was away I could monitor what was going on. I am gone right now so I asked my Brother-in-law to check out my truck and tractor by starting them and charging the batteries. Of course when he chesked the ...

Re: Guns that mean the most to you?

Rihmfire, With all the guys wanting to be adopted over the years I feel like I need a spreadsheet to keep up with all of them..... :D Thanks for the vote of confidence. I designed the displays and cabinets after the system developed by Cabelas (why throw away success!). My cabinets and dis...

Re: new to lever guns

Silvertip57, When I built the gun room about 1 1/2 years ago (My wife calls it my "Boom Room"), I outfitted it with a pretty high tech security system.....Cameras (inside and outside), motion detectors, glass break detectors, door alarms, and very loud alarms (the neighbors for over a mile...

Re: Guns that mean the most to you?

The guns that mean the most to me is my entire collection of Winchesters....73s, 86, 90s, 92s, 06s, 61s and 63s. I would have a terrible time parting with any of them and my kids will love me when I die cause they will inherit the whole thing. Pics of the collection: IMG_3335.JPG IMG_3340.JPG IMG_33...

Re: new to lever guns

I have two Win M88, both in .308. One of them I have had since new in 1968 and it has taken many deer and two elk. The other 88 I happened to get about 20 years ago from a friend. It is in almost new condition and is a part of my newer firearms collection along with a very nice Marlin 336 made in 19...
