I'd like to congratulate you on seizing the day. Much better than another "one that got away" story, eh?

Nice analysis, Saltcreek. I'd like to point out that Williams does indeed make the "FP-71: For Winchester 71, 86, 05, 07, and 10. Also for Model 95 Winchester lever action and Browning centerfire lever action."

Their number one priority is, and remains, flying safe. This priority goes all to hell right now, though, when someone is slashing their throats. That little 'distraction' must be dealt with as priority number one for as long as the threat lasts. How much help is that security door if a baddie gains...

Confession - I've watched The Searchers many times, but never in the company of anyone else, at least not for the closing scene. I bawl like a baby every bloomin' time. Don't know how to 'splain that to the daughters. Now, there are a bunch that I enjoy watching with my wife - McClintock, Rio Bravo,...

Hey, guys, when you order from Factory Sales, please make sure you understand the shipping charges before completing the purchase. I had to call and cancel after my only attempt because I noticed the confiscatory s&h. This was some months ago, though, and I have no current experience. Just watch...

I'll bet you're talking about Varner Sporting Arms, http://www.varnerguns.com/ They ceased production years ago and were bought out by Dayton-Traister, who maintains (sort of) the above site. There is contact info, so, what the hey, try it and let us know. I have a fairly plain Varner myself, and it...

Hi, Rhys Measure your sight radius, in inches, then multiply by the 6 inches you are too high. Then divide by your 90m range, also in inches, or 90 x 39.37, to arrive at how much higher your front sight should be for that range. Example, for a sight radius of 20 inches: 20 inches x 6 inches, divided...

Re: OT - Air Force test

No jock I ever knew could last over about 30 seconds...... Oh ....... did I say that out loud? This is a bunch of fun. http://members.iinet.net.au/%7Epontipak/redsquare.html If you last 18 second, apparently you are way above average. Fighter jocks are expected to last 90 seconds or more!!! ...

Thanks to all for the welcomes, glad to be here. Nueces is pronounced like new-ays'-es. It's the name of a south Texas river that roughly parallels the Rio Grande near the coast and used to be the border with Old Mexico. The 'Nueces Strip', that land between the two rivers, was some of the last lawl...

ceb,

From Brophy's book, some earlier 336Cs (carbines) were marked 336RC, for "regular carbine", to distinguish them from the 336SCs, the sporting carbines with the 2/3 magazines.

In other news, this is my first post, so "Howdy, Y'all"
