Re: I Fell Off the Wagon

Well I took it out today and put a hundred rounds thru it. Smooth as silk action, was having a blast breaking clay pigeons at fifty yards and a few at 100 yards. :D Not bad for an old guy with less than perfect eyes. Going to get a peep sight for this gun and then really have fun. Sorry, no pics. Ca...

Re: I Fell Off the Wagon

I think I figured out my problem, I keep taking my rat hole and check book with me. Maybe if I left them at home it might work.
On second thought the cost of gas and making a trip home to get money would cost me more anyway! :)

I Fell Off the Wagon

Well, I fell off the wagon again. Told myself I wouldn't buy and more lever guns, then Saturday I went to a gun show. Long story short, I bought a Henry Big Boy in 44Mag. Re: powders you're loading .223 with?

I have good results on my four 223 rifles using 25 gr. 748. Not the fastest powder for 55 grains but works on two ar's, one bolt action and a single shot.
Most rifles shoot .5 to 1 moa with this load if I do my part.

Re: Fooling with the .41 ...

I love the 41 Mag. I have two Blackhawks in 4 5/8", a Smith Model 57 in 6" and a Marlin 1894. I had a Rossi years ago and loaned it to a friend and lost it when he died and no one could find it. Have had Contenders and even A Dan Wesson. Should have hung on to them all. Great guns and cali...

Re: For all of you geezers here

I have to agree with you. Just a few days from now I will hit 61, my twenties and thirties were a blur of trying to make a living. In my fifties I realized I had missed my kids growing up, worked too much and gone too much! :( Now I enjoy life with grandkids and children, I have a great wife to spen...
