Re: Peep Sight vs Iron Sight

I have never found a better sight than a peep mounted on a carbine length lever action. If, your shots are under 150 yards and more like 50, and you hunt in the bush and do more stalking/sitting as opposed to stand hunting, peeps are the only way to go. But, your mileage may vary. As others have sta...

Re: Concealed carry --- again

I have carried a Glock 27/26 in the front pocket of my uniform pants since 1996. Presently my "BUG" is either a Glock 26 (21.75 ozs.) or a Glock 43 single-stack in 9mm (17.95 ozs.). The Glock 43 is very accurate and very easy to shoot. With that said, I just bought a Glock 42 single-stack...

Carbines and Trappers. 94's are hunting guns for me. I give up the reach of a scoped bolt action long barreled magnum for the handiness, and lightweight of the flat nose cartridge guns. Perhaps as I grow older, I realize that a peep sighted .356WCF will do anything I need to do. Carrying something l...

About the whale--it's my understanding that native Alaskans don't shoot whales to kill them; if they did, the whales would sink and be lost. They shoot to wound them, weakening them so they can't stay down as long, then chase them down, get alongside, and put a harpoon in them with a barrel or two ...

I'd say the Ruger will hold up better to the 10mm, only because of the engineering and metallurgy I'm sure they will use in the investment casting( if the cast their 1911 frames) Friend of mine was stationed in Alaska while in the Air Force. Interesting, but the .356 is a lot less trouble for questionable gain in performance. You can improve .356 ballistics by handloading, cause the .36 RPP will be a handloaded deal also. Out of 20" barrels, what would the gain be with the .36? If the .356 and .338 Marlin couldn't catch on, doubt i...
