I've used both Silver Tips and Power Points in my .30-30s (170gr) and still use both. I see no real difference in the performance of the two. I'm kinda in Hobie's camp as far as liking the looks of the Silver Tips -- they do look nice but in the end the results are pretty much the same.

They sell "GOO GONE" in a 1-gallon size. You can spray it on with a large nozzeled spray gun. It'll cut the glue pretty quick and then you can spray it off with a pressure washer.
