Costner may not be to a lot of folks liking politically, but him and Duvall are born for "Open Range". That big shoot out at the end is one of the best ever in a movie. I still use VHS, got too many tapes and good VCR's to quit now, I do have an extra copy of Open Range.

I bought bricks of Federal .22only about 6 years ago for 6.99 per 500. Now it is 13 something at Wallys near here. Where is the end? A word to the wise would be, even at 13 a brick or bulk pack, it's pretty cheap plinking. And 30-30 or 30-06 and such, a guy better get some while he can if you don't ...

Joe, Your choice of eye doc is a lot better outcome than the gun doc who worked on the marlin bolt gun , sure glad for that!!! My wife had a cornea transplant 2 summers ago, it isn't the sweetest trial to go through but she can still see, and see good!! Glad for you my friend, keep us posted.

I've bought many guns and never shot them, not that I was saving them for any particular reason. Thanksgiving day I shot 50 rounds through a 7 year old, but NIB, model 657 Smith 41 mag. First time shot, wonderful pistol!!! Why did I wait so long? Shoot your gun, it's the right thing to do.

In Oregon you usually get some opportunity in the rain during hunting season. I found that the rain sure hides your noises. Wearing rain gear isn't all that bad once you get going. You guys had a good day of it with that nice buck.

You might be able ( on-line) to fiund an article by Bryce Towsely, he covered Moly bullets in that article thoroughly. Seems I recall that he liked them and shot them a lot. Article was back about 2 or 3 years now, seems like it was in American Rifleman.

I think mine is 1951 year model in 30-30. Very nice guns, but some guys don't like the longer tubes. You lucked out, and in a somewhat more rare caliber than you expect to sneak up on.

A $2.00 dollar screw or small part can't take 6.00 worth of handling. They could give away the part, just make thier money on the Costs of the thing to mail it. I've got rifles for 15.00 several times, a lot more involved shipping that, than an envelope with a stamp on it.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that the best thing you ever had is laying right next to you. Never hurt anyone to get a good tune up, and make some changes at home that really count. I wish this movie could be bought now on DVD.
