Re: My patient needed her Backup Gun
trying desperately to sell me on a spinal cord stimulator that my neurosurgeon assured me was a blind alley. Hey Bill.... neurostim devices are usually the last resort for patients with chronic pain. They DO work, at least to some extent, for at least 80% of people that have them inplanted, and pro...

Re: coated bullet in a ROSSI 92 38/357 and 45colt/454
I have a Rossi in .45 Colt, and I shoot mostly PC'd bullets in it. No leading, good accuracy... what's not to like? I also shoot them in my Henry lever in .357 with zero issues.... I'd post pics of targets shot with it, but I don't use an image hosting site anymore, I just usually upload from my com...

That is a crazy price... if I didn't handload, that one would likely become a wall-hanger.

Re: rossi 92 454
Does the brass bulge like the .45 Colt and .44 Mag gun's do ? If your brass bulges the chamber must be oversize. My .45 Colt's don't do that. Neither do the .44's. Don't own one but have read where many have had that issue with the new Rossi rifles. Was thinking about a .454 but was hesitant on tha...

Re: S&W Lever gun
Wow ... that walnut version is pricey. Looks good though ... maybe they are using high grade wood. I have to think that one's just done for the photo on the website. The wood versions are supposed to be a limited run, and all of them are supposed to have "select" grade wood on them. The M...

Re: Figured it out
Think I have a plan. I live in the country, and don't reload. Think I will go with a .30.30, then plan on finding a matching .357 down the road. Thanks for all the input. BTW, I defended the lever action to a friend who insisted I needed an AR,. AK, SKS, HK, or some other alphabet soup gun. Appreci...

If I was looking for a levergun for strictly home defense, living where I do, in a medium-upscale neighborhood in a suburb of about 75,000, north of Dallas , it would more than likely be a Marlin in 357. Close second choice would be one of the Rossi/Puma leverguns in 357. I would make sure it fed FL...

all of the things I mentioned are not suppositions or paranoia on my part. They are things that both Hillary and Obama have stated they WILL do. Again, you're ok with all that? What you've stated about McCain are actions that YOU assume he will take. He has not, to my knowledge publicly indicated he...

He won't do as much damage to our nation as the other two will. Yes, he will. ...and he'll be able to get away with it because people who vote for the (R), no matter who wears it, will in typical partisan-zombie fashion, convince themselves that he's not as bad as the other two are. :o so, let me g...

OT Matco barrels
Has anybody had any experiences with barrels made by Matco? I'm considering a blank, and was a little concerned about the low price on it. I've never known anyone that has used them.
Opinions?

I don't find the stainless very attractive. I also have a real nice blued 1895 made in 1972 so I'll keep my shiny Guide Gun. It's too accurate to part with. I bet you could get it bead blasted pretty cheaply, which ought to take the shine right out of it... I don't like shiny guns, either... after ...

Lee HB boolit in 1895
Does anybody use the Lee hollow base boolit in the Marlin 45-70's? I would think that for low to moderate loads, it ought to be pretty nice, with the bore sealing quality it should have. I assume it would not be advisable for heavier loads, possibly blowing the skirt off? Or, is it tougher than that...

45-70 barrel length
I tried a search, but couldn't find any discussions about this.... Let's pretend I'm going to get a Marlin 45-70... I don't want the cowboy type... too heavy for what I want. My question is, is there a big real world difference in velocity between the 18.5" guide gun, and the 22" regular r...
