Had wondered about that and thought that one piece firing pin was more of a model 1894 fix for cowboy action shooting.My rifle is basically a 1893 which doesn't have the later lever safety.I'm concerned about the lock up as well as my "cure" for it :roll: .

Does anyone know if the breech bolt on a 1893 is the same as those used in the model 36a's. I have a 36a from around the late 40's , while every thing appears to be in great shape,it has a problem firing.This has a two piece firing pin and I have changed hammer springs but that hasn't cured the prob...

IIRC the 310 cadet had a .321 bore similar to the .32 Winchester Special and not the smaller bore of the 32-20 ( .318 ) so re-chambering to either american cartridge had mixed results because of the bore size and twist.Shooting 32 Winchester in a cadet will get your attention and not be too satisfac...

J-b non-embedding bore cleaning compound has worked on a few of my guns. You can get it at Brownells but I found it at the Lgs. It has improved a few frosty bores for me and I doubt I'll use it up as it goes a long ways.

As long as we don't beep when we back up everything is fine! On the serious side have been working on keeping off the weight since retirement.Never ending job but the alternative is worse and a lot of stuff that gets sold in the stores shouldn't be.

Dad used to alternate if he was carrying a center fire rifle he would carry a .22 handgun,if he was carrying a ,22 rifle or his shotgun he would carry the 45 colt.Haven't carried both in years but would have no problem with the .41 mag or single six. Don't know if they still sell them but Midway use...
