Theodore Martin 1939. 1917 Winchester 1894 SRC

I’m not much of an online person any more, but I thought this might be interesting to some around here. I picked up a 1917 SRC a few years ago. Like a lot of them, this one had been refinished and oversanded a few times in its life. The wrist is loose and cracked. I finally decided to replace the bu...

Will do.

Part is ordered. Like apparently most of these guns, the mag follower has broken loose from the outer mag tube. If I can't get it repaired adequately, I'll try Wisner's mag tube kit when they make another batch. Thanks again

Marlin 1897 extractor

Hello,
I just picked up a well-used Marlin 1897, 22 S, L, LR. It’s missing the extractor. I’ve kind-of struck out on finding a replacement. Anyone know of a source( and maybe the part #) that would be correct for this bolt? Thanks

I've had several Taurus 1911s. All of them ran fine. The only 'problems' I've had with them are the Taurus safety hammers and the Series 80-type firing pin safety. Neither caused functional problems. I just can't abide any firing pin safety abomination on a 1911, or the Taurus hammers. Luckily, a st...

If you're like me and want a Colt, you probably won't be satisfied with anything else. If you're patient, you can probably pick up a GI mixmaster 1911-A1 for $700-ish - especially in Texas. 1911s seem to cost less in Texas compared to NC. It sounds like you are just wanting an unmodified GI gun, but...

Armscor also makes a copy of a Detective Special. Kind of rough, but serviceable. Never had one come back. Several people who bought one, bought 1 or 2 more.
