For the 38-55 I use ww plus 4% tin.......water quenched. They come out at 8-9 on the Saeco scale which about equals Lymans #2 alloy. Plus, every rifle bullet I use (except pistol calibers in rifles such as the 32-20, 38-40 etc.)) wears a gas check. Using more tin will give you a fatter bullet. -----...

Here we go again! That eastern carbine had the stock changed. Its ill fitting as guns in those days were fitting tight to the metal. The receiver is "right" as the case hardening on the metal kept the bluing from penetrating the metal and easily wore off, hence the deeper blue of the barre...

jphi, Here's my thoughts. I was going to say the barrel was a non factory barrel that was fitted to your '94, but like you said, the circle over the "P" shows it to be a real deal Winchester barrel. The barrel is Winchester but it has been heavily buffed which eliminated the barrel address...

Loading and getting accuracy with the 25-20 is dependent on bullet fit to the throat/leade. If it don't fit, you will get patterns. There's lots of Youtube videos on how to silver solder with a propane torch.

Depending on the condition of the rifle, its no big deal to D&T for two 6-48 screws. You could epoxy it first............then shoot it to make sure its on..........then D&T it.---------------6
