I had one put on the guide gun. I was leaving on a job and left it with a smith to put on. I don't know what he did besides fitting it, maybe a little filing. When I tried it it was so light I immediately took it off. Years later I put it back but I never take my thumb off the hammer spur until I'm ...

19 members of a 20 man crew were killed Sunday. I tried both the 92 and 86 Moruku's. With a cartridge in the chamber making the firing pin flush with the rear of the bolt does not touch the primer. I had to push the pin about 1/8" into the bolt before I felt it touch. I think I'm going to trim the rebound strut, because 86's are famous for l...

You might want to slug them. I have a Moroku/Winchester in 44-40 sitting here that slugs .429 instead of .427. Makes sense since they also made it in .44 mag. Why would they make .427 barrels when they already have .429's on the shelf. I'm not complaining. All I need is a .44 mag expander plug and t...

I'm curious. How difficult would it be to cut a half cock notch in the Winchester hammer?
Would it need to be heat treated afterwards?
Did you lighten the hammer spring or just cut off the rebound finger or both?

Barrel markings are important. If the caliber has been changed it's a rebore and worth less. I have a '92 sporting rifle in 25/20 built in 1894 but, on top of the barrel hear the receiver is an oval with a P inside. That means it has a genuine Winchester barrel that was mailed to a gunsmith.
