I see where manufacturers rate the bullets for a certain velocity , but you can get there with different pressures. Is the lower pressure load likely to lead less ?

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work , you would have 1” of barrel sticking out the slide. I’ve had 1911’s in the past and can’t see a reason why it wouldn’t work, maybe a current 1911 owner could shed light on the cons ,.

I preferred the old format too, but I guess they were concerned with people not paying close attention to powder and listed weight to use. Maybe something like using bullseye and using the weight of a slower powder listed. Now only the proper gr. Weight is listed for the one powder being used. I’ll ...

I’ve been lubing some cases even though they are carbide dies, and they appear a little gummed up, that rcbs case lube is tacky stuff.
Lubing every third one.

Thanks guys , I too wanted brass to stay close by and not have to chase it every where, I think I’ll try about 75 % of max and load only a few to see what happens.

Will starting loads listed in manuals reliably cycle the action ? Or are they for revolvers and such, and autos should be run on near max loads ?
Gonna start loading for my 9mm shield.
