I drive over to the local indoor pistol range.

I put a target at 10 yards.
I load 8 10-rd magazines for my Ruger 22/45 pistol.
Boom times 80.
Repeat.

For variation:
I put a target at 20 yards.
I load 18 into the tube feed of a Glenfield Model 60 semi-auto rifle.
Boom times 18.
Repeat.

Re: Just for fun lets kick around this question ..... What was the best 22 rifle you have ever owned and why?

Easy question, Easy answer: Remington Nylon 66. Bought it new in '72. Shot many thousands of rounds through it, always accurate, always 100% functional. Then it started double-feeding. The internet showed me a simple fixit. Since then I've shot thousands of rounds through it, still 100% functional. ...

On my 990, there is plenty of firing pin length. There is plenty of firing pin travel, and the firing pin itself has been smoothed to ensure no-hangup travel in it's slot.

Breech is nice and flat, and inspected with magnifying glasses and straight edges.
