Very nice sheath !!!!

A pal of mine in Utah has been learning "that trade" and has made a few sheaths for me in a style very similar to that. Simple, utilitarian, good looking, built to last forever.

Re: Just for fun lets kick around this question ..... What was the best 22 rifle you have ever owned and why?

Easy question, Easy answer: Remington Nylon 66. Bought it new in '72. Shot many thousands of rounds through it, always accurate, always 100% functional. Then it started double-feeding. The internet showed me a simple fixit. Since then I've shot thousands of rounds through it, still 100% functional. ...

I mentioned above a book I read which provided insight into the Japanese mindset. So far I'm o...

I just finished a biography of sorts on Mitsuo Fuchida, who led the first attack wave on Pearl Harbor. In the book are many many insights into the Japanese way of doing things, and the mentality. This is the very first book I've ever read from the Japanese viewpoint. And the book provides insight al...

ANOTHER UPDATE ON MY MARLIN 990 I had used the recoil spring from my Glenfield Model 60 for the big test, which worked just fine to prove that the recoil spring was the problem with my Marlin 990. With my SoCal-calibrated MK I Mod 0 astygmatic eyeball, they both look identical. When the action is hand-cycled, the Glenfield spring does not feel any stiffer.

And Ebay is to the rescue: an hour ago I ordered a new recoil spring so we'll see how that works out when it arrives.

On my 990, there is plenty of firing pin length. There is plenty of firing pin travel, and the firing pin itself has been smoothed to ensure no-hangup travel in it's slot.

Breech is nice and flat, and inspected with magnifying glasses and straight edges.
