get a one stage press. a couple of people have said "turret" press, i agree. disable the rotation and it works like a single stage, BUT you set up your dies once not every time you change function. this kit will save you money later. :wink: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Reloadin...

There is nothing wrong with getting a Ruger 10/22 as a first rifle. Good for him to choose what he wants, and purchase it himself. today my son [19] bought his first rifle.

now, until now i've provided the shooting implements.
this one he researched, took himself off to the store,
and paid with his own cash.

so it's just a ruger 10-22, but it's the principle of the thing.

you did fine. changing/resetting dies is the drawback of a single press. get a bunch of the quick changers. the lee equipment ,to quote his book is only 3 or 4 times stronger than you need, while some are 10 or more times. thus the price difference. for what it's worth i've never seen a broken press...
