Re: Vintage 1930's Picture 'What Is This Rifle?'
To be quite honest, I tried looking at the picture with my 68 YO eyes and Wally world 2.5 reading glasses and that was a total loss. I next tried to use my magnifying glass and it was also a no go. Being that I live on $1000 a month and not able to access the high tech tools that our feds have, I de...

In the bayou country of South Louisiana, those fish are known as Sac-a-lait. That is Cajun French meaning Sac of milk. We scale them and then cut a checker board pattern on each side before throwing them into a pot of hot oil. This allows one to pull off large squares of tasty white meat. We put the...

Re: Vintage 1930's Picture 'What Is This Rifle?'
The rifle in the picture is a 30-40 Krag, with the year of manufacture too hard to determine because of the quality of the pic. It was most likely a full length rifle that was cut down for sporter use but as I stated it could of also been a carbine model. This was a very popular build that was once ...

Actors are the same as every other person who walks on this terra firma, we all have ideas, outlooks on life and how we approach those persons who are different. I'm not going to say what happens to everyone else when they fire a gun without ear protection as each person is different. It's been my experience that when being fired at and returning fire, I don't hear anything but a small popping sound. I have fired rifles, pistols and small NAA revolvers in 22...

You might want to look at the Marble's tang sight before you make up your mind. I've got three 92's at the present time and have owned a few others that are now doing duty elsewhere. The three that are with me at this time all have the tang sight. It's fast in the woods and has both windage and elev...

Steve has the sights to improve the 92. The Marbles tang site makes it a keeper, much better than drilling holes in the side. His DVD will answer all questions. If you have the Rossi with the sight on the bbl band, then Steve can correct that too. Look for the improved tang site. It has a lock nut o...

All the above post are correct in the content. You should buy a thermometer. Try to stay in the 675 range . When using aluminum molds you have to go up to 775 or so for better results. The Lyman cast bullet book is a must. As you stated once you have a rhythm going the bullets will be good. For cowb...

The trick to putting a 92 together is to place a fired case in the front of the bolt so that it is held by the extractor. This will hold the ejector spring compressed. This will then let you slide the bolt into the chamber and install the lever. Steve Young AKA Nate Kiowa Jones sells a CD on his sit...

This banning guns in certain areas is a back door way for the anti-gun people to get at honest gun owners. It's the same approach taken in Obama's home state with the having every round of ammunition registered. A CCW will do no good if each piece of property can set it's own rules to ban such. It w...

I don't think that a 22lr snake shot will come close to the amount of shot carried by a 410. The 22 uses #12 and the 410 0ffers many different loads. I 'd rather put 3 buckshot with each triggerpull than one slug that could miss. By slug I mean a single bullet from a cartridge case. I also don't thi...

For the most part the old guns were never fired as many times as we fire them in a cas match. If you are firing a Marlin the clean up is easy.
