My Dr. recommended taking 2 naproxen sodium tabs (Aleve is one of the store brands, I get cheaper generics) as soon as I notice the "sparkles". Works pretty good for me, but I like to follow that with 20-30 minutes in a dark room or a nap if possible... Vision is okay after that, but my ey...

I carry mine in a Hunter holster on a Chesty Puller rig from Simply Rugged (with a holster adapter). I use a Schrade Old Timer folder and a Kershaw fillet knife. Both have textured rubber handles that don't get slippery, hold an edge fairly well and touch up quick on a steel or stone.
