At work now. Gent has a Marlin 1895 in 45/70 hear. THe shells are not loading. I can see the carrier is not rising high enough for the shell to enter the chamber. What is the likely fix?? And...yes...it is an Ilion, IL gun!! Thanks

My Marlin Golden 39A has a trigger that is too light.

I want to get it worked on by somebody who knows what they are doing.

Right now it can go off too easily when you close the lever.

My newly acquired 1873 has a different serial number.
It dates to 1899, but........
the number is3XXXX6B

What is the B ?????

Does this mean there were two guns made with the same serial number????
Was the B added after a return to the factory???

There are some heavy loads these days, and those guns are a lot older now, by what.....
40 to 80 years older ????????

Many Krags were reamed out to accept 30-06 blanks to be fired by honor guards.
Now I sure wouldn't want one of those on myshoulder when I touched off a live round!!!

I'll still pass on a peep.
Depending on the gun, I can usually shoot 1" to 3" groups
at 100 yards. If I have to pull the trigger at 200 yard or beyond,
I'll probably be using a scoped gun anyway.(but NEVER a lever gun)

I tried to tighten the blade with no results.

For the most part, most cowboy action shooting targets are shot at such close ranges, that even a 3 inch barreled "shop keepers" model would not be much of a hindrence in hitting those targets fast and accurate enough. The first few single action guns I ever shot were 5 1/2" barrels. ...
