There is nothing with the 1 in12 twist , 1 in 16 in the 32 cal a little better for lead . In the Marlin I use Unique , sold gun 10+ years ago and I don't remember how much .

I got 3 deer here in Tn with a 44-40 using my level 3 loads push a 200 gr at 2000 fps using IMR4227 in my rifle and over 1500 fps in my Vaquero . All 3 deer never ran more then 75 yds . Here in Tn we have bee's that bore a hole in wood the size of a marble . A 357 or 44 mag case filled with corn meal with make you the great white hunter of the insect world and won't damage the wood . It all so works on warps and mud dabbers . The new vaquero is design for STANDARD 45lc loads NOT any +P or ruger only loads . The cylinders in pic are Vaquero's not the NV . I just got done shooting my 32-20 marlin . 115 gr and 4.0 Unique with SP primers it is a flat shooter . If lead and copper don't mix, why do CB shooters use gas checks? Me, I paper patch, great way to remove any fouling and a great way to jacketed performance from cast. In a rifle 1400 fps is max in ungas checked bullet so not to lead up barrel . That my 32-40 below left , if you gas check it , 2000 fps is easy to do , that the 30-30 right target . COST is mainly why I cast.

My 4 Vaquero and Rossi 92 .430 will fit , but a fired case .429 slide in neck easy allowing for expansion and release bullet better .

I've been using instant cream of wheat to fire form case for 30 plus years . 5.0 of Unique and fill the case up with Instant cream of wheat and spit ball to seal it and pop it in a safe direction .. If you like to hunt , 2 side of my land is TVA water shed to keep the lake water clear . and no trees or brushes can be removed , zero improvement and no off roading are allowed , which makes this a super hunting area and it is land locked . I pay taxes on 13 acres but I have 500 + more acres free ...

The downside of having your own land and range is you miss the camaraderie and 'networking' and 'marketing' aspects of shooting sports, and the latter two have resulted in a fragmented bunch of folks to fight gun control, . I do the SASS/CAS and I have friends over and we have little matches . Ever...

I've lost 90% of my target in one of my moves . These are off my index card loading information . Only the 30-30 are crimped , I never played with crimps to get a better group .

I only put Douglas barrels on my guns and if you shoot cast or jacket they all need a breakin . And every barrel maker will tell you that . I build all my guns for competition. I shoot less that 200 jacket bullet a year , but I shoot over 15,000 cast bullets a year . I make most of my bullet molds ...

I'm not going to change anyone mind . I've shooting cast bullets in competition over 30 years , and won over 300 matches using cast bullet even against jacket bullet . I do not know any top cast bullet shooter in precision shooting will ever shoot a jacket in there gun . Copper and lead do not mix ...

I considered using a tang sight, but my experience with them has been negative. They look great, and they work great - they're very accurate_ but the body of the sight gets in the way of my thumb and I can't grip the gun the way I want to. The 1st thing is decide weather you are going to shoot cast or jackets . It takes 500+ rounds to season a lead bullet shooter and 1 jacket bullet to screw it up . Copper fouling cause leading . On the Rugers, what do you do about the hanger under the barrel for the mainspring? Do you simply remove it and attach to the barrel, or???? I've had my Rossi for 15 yrs . I do the SASS/CAS thing and there is over 20,000 rds run threw my gun in 44-40 and it has never broken and the only jams I ever had where from a short strokes .

32-20 , 38-40 and 44-40 are bottle neck case that have a very thin brass at neck and if a heavy roll crimp is used , you could damage the case where it won't chamber in gun easy or not at all . In my 44-40 +P+ loads I use the Lee factory crimp only . Normally a light roll crimp work perfect for SAS...

I use Unique in my level 1 and 2 loads and IMR4227 in my lever 3 loads . This paste is all the infor you will ever need for a 32-20 .

When I lived in Az's White Mnt I never had to track a cat . I made lots of noise and they will track you in about a hour of walking around , if not a crippled rabbit call will do the job fast .
