Question for you fancy wood workers, I found a Birch burl growing on a tree at my hunting camp, if I recall, it was about 10" in diameter, maybe a little smaller, I think it's yellow Birch.
Any value to it?

No experience with those, but someone on one of these sites showed a photo of two rem. 170 corelokts recovered from a bull moose that were the most perfect mushrooms you could ask for.The moose of course was very dead. :mrgreen:
Not sure the BB stuff can make them deader.

Have you checked out Mahindra? I think they make a big enough tractor, Seems like a heavy duty option, more like an older American model when they were made here.

Very nice. Most, if not all, the Nepalese Kukris have a wooden sheath covered with leather, light,
and tough. If you want to get away from the added wood belt loop, you could make a leather frog with attached leather belt loop that the wood knife sheath portion would fit down into.

The "do not call" list is a joke, nobody enforces it so telemarketers ignore it.
My phones have been on the list since it was created, I still block 3 calls per week.

If I get a call with a number I don't know, and they don't leave a voicemail, on the block list it goes.

Good luck with that. Never had the "privilege" of fixing one, but threw away dozens that were abandoned by their previous owners.

I have a cheap, 25 year old, at least, Harbor Freight charger that has never failed to charge my batteries, it lives in the shed, is rusty, and the clamps are stuff. Darn thing just works.

I think the term "brush" gun originally meant the gun was handy to carry and shoot offhand in heavy wooded or "brushy" conditions, not that the bullet should go through brush and still hit the target. The term was hijacked by folks who were thinking too much, or at least looking ...

Can't really add to what's been said, but the 30-30 336 I have has done everything I've asked of it, is a handy gun to handle, and I like the external hammer. with the Hornaday LE's, it's still not a 308, but getting closer

Its going on a Marlin 336 30-30, I looked at the weavers as they had a good review,but they quit making the 2.5. Not a fan of the scout scope setup.
I ordered the leupold, it's small, light, and it's a leupold, my first ever. Usually I cheap out, but hey, it's only money. :mrgreen:

I used a Havalon to skin a coyote, scary sharp, but it's kind of light weight, I feel, for heavier cutting.
might just need to get used to it, but these cheap Moras are so sharp, and tougher, I'd probably relegate the Havolons to just skinning fur.

If your going to drag them, do like Malamute, don't split anything, otherwise the carcass just collects more leaves and stuff. I age the meat too, large chunks in game bags, in a cooler, with ice on the bottom if needed. Works just as well and you don't have to wrestle with a dried on, or half froze...

Mine is an old Marlin scoped semi 22, with a green LED hung under the bbl. The Fastfire would be great on this rig for close up terminations though.
With some Paco modified target loads, it's lethal on raccoon sized stuff and not that loud.
Not that anyone really notices 1 shot in the night.

Thanks all, I think it's doable, but probably not worth it. I'd be better off shooting it up and reloading something more appropriate, though I may experiment. I doubt a hollow point would make much difference, there's just not enough horsepower to get it to open. And my lawn mower is fast as it cam...
