Re: Finally did it...a black gun

Like Legos for grown ups, they are a great and versatile platform. For instance, I'd always thought the short Russian (7.62X39) had the potential to be a very accurate cartridge - in the right platform. (seems like Ruger & otbers just got the memo). Last year, I spent about $350 for a for a comp...

Re: quest. about selling firearms

Sales to parties in another state require that you ship to a FFL only. That said, some FFL's will only accept shipment from another FFL and not a private party, even though there is no legal requirement for this. USPS regs only allow shipment of long guns by private individuals, but will only accept...

Wanna' trade? :D Sorry earl, this is one of those that will never get traded or sold. It just does too many things well. I call it the No.3 Bill should have built. Re: Reloading warning for Hornet/K-Hornet shooters and Lil'Gun

I haven't shot my K Hornet (Ruger #3, 22" bbl.) in about a year, but reading your post made me look at my record book which has the targets and all pertinant data - case, primer, powder, OAL, etc. Below are my three best Lil Gun loads. Good case life, no pressure signs, loose primer pockets, et...

I have the one shown in 93marshooter's reply on my '93 take down. It really helps these old eyes get the most accuracy out of a great gun.

Thanks for a great read and great pictures. In my usual style, I got to the party late and "discovered" the 25-35 only about two years ago. I shoot a bunch of other hyphenated calibers, but this one for some reason avoided my radar 'til then. After shooting one belonging to a member of my ...

Take a look at the Taurus Ultra Light snubby. 9 shot adjustable sight copy of the S&W J frame. Also comes in all steel for a few bucks less. I've got the stainless lightweight version and like it a lot. Very accurate and a lot of gun for the money.

Re: reduced loads for .250-3000

I just tried some 95 gr. RNFP/GC from Montana Bullet Works with 7.5 gr. of Unique in my Savage 99 , and got 1,500 fps and 3/4" groups @ 75 yds. with a receiver sight and 67 yr. old eyes. For me, that's about as good as it gets. www.montanabulletworks.com (406) 655-8163.
Hope this helps.

I took some advanced training (defensive pistol) some years ago with John Farnum. One of the other students had a P7 and did quite well with it. UNIQUE. Somewhere between 7.0 and 10.0 you'll find a load your gun will like. 7.0 is the most accurate in my two 336's. At that charge weight, a pound of powder goes a long way.
