I had a 586 several years ago. It easily shot as accurately as both of my Bill Davis custom guns. At fifty yards shooting off a rest, it would put five shots inside an inch. It’s still the most accurate production revolver I’ve ever owned, and almost the equal of the custom guns.

Remington 3” 12ga
41 pellets of .24” diameter pellets. Like shooting 41 .22lr shells at one time. Use a 3 1/2” and it’s like shooting the whole box! What’s not to like?

Two things will greatly improve your shooting from a bench or other type of rest (such as shooting Creedmoor style in silhouette). You’re not going to get 1800 FPS with 180g XTP’s in your rifle. More likely you can get around 1600 FPS with a stout load of H110/WW296.
