i would get a longer barrel for the 870. if something breaks on the 1200 ,i doubt you would be able to find parts..the 1200 was an economy pump gun

Bubba have you chronographed that 9.0 gr of 2400 and the 120 bullet? I shot my PPS with those 9.5 2400 loads today and they certainly do not seem high psi. Primers look rather mild.
