Although I have no need whatsoever, I would really like to have a .408 Cheytac (and a place to shoot it).
Almost in diametric opposition, I would also love to have a Shiloh. The Shiloh is do-able, the Cheytac is probably not.

OF course they never leaked. Unless a leak has been documented, they never leaked.... Don't work that way. You have to document that they haven't leaked. A .22 don't bother me much. But today I was shooting a .45-70 handgun under a tin shed. Couldn't have made it worse if I'd tried. But it was probably better than a .357Sig. I understand they're mucho wicked.Pitchy wrote:...of course you`d have to have a small head with a 22

I went to the range this AM. Although it was closed, since I'm an RSO I have a prox card that will let me in anytime. Great morning. I had it all to myself. After shooting a bit, I went downrange to hang new targets at the 50-yard stands. I returned to the tin-roof covered shooting benches and loade...

To answer your question, alcohol will disolve and remove shellac but not laquer or varnish. Laquer thinner will remove shellac and laquer, but not varnish. Stripper will remove all 3. From my experience, it's not as much the lube as the bullet fit. It should be at least .001 larger than max. groove diameter. If it's the same size, or smaller, you're going to get leading at even modest velocities. You'd do well to read some of Glen Fryxell's articles over at lasc.us .
