Re: Well?!?! Who got something good?
The rear sight on that CZ is easily removed, would that give you enough clearance to use your rings?

Re: The Pacific Northwest
I grew up in western Washington and it was a great place to live but has really gone down hill in recent years for all the reasons listed above. We moved to northern Idaho a few years ago and love everything about it. There are several large lumber mills within 20 min. drive of me. Hunting and fishi...

Re: Recurves again
I strongly advise to pass on it. 45-55 doesn't seem like much but is a huge difference. I shot 70-75 pound longbows when I was young and dumb and my shoulders paid for it. I now have to shoot 40-45 pounders but it is plenty for hunting and much more enjoyable. You will develop bad shooting habits if...

Re: Best camp knives

I would suggest looking at some of the tools used by people that work and use these tools every day - parangs, goloks, bolos and kukries, etc. They work. That C.S. Trailmaster is an awesome tool though...

Re: Got a new barrel for my 1911... ;-)
Ballistics by the inch shows a 200-300 fps gain for 9mm in a carbine length barrel in a few real world guns.

Re: bow building
A backing of some sort may take care of the growth ring problem. Go very slow and careful during the tillering process, it is what determines if you end up with a bow or not. Good luck! Also, if (when) You build a split wood bow, be aware that it is a much different process.
