Re: New Marlin 32-20 and bullet test

Ben
How well did the buckeye shoot ?
I've been thinking about getting one as a companion for my Marlin , since I can't afford a M-97 Freedom Arms right now.

Re: New Marlin 32-20 and bullet test

I have one of these that was a basket case when I bought it new last winter [2008]. I sent it back and Marlin said they fixed it but didn't evn ccome close. Then I sent it to Andy Horvath and he worked magic on it. He got it feeding perfect with all kinds of bullets , smoothed the action , got the t...

Re: 1895CB Reloads

I read an article by John Taffin today , in Guns
He talked like H-322 is hard to beat in 45-70
He was getting high velocity with 405s , and good accuracy.
I've had good luck with his loads before.
Think I'll try some.

Re: 1895CB Reloads

Pebowbender I do not feel a big diffrence in 300 Grn, @ 2000 - 2100 FPS. Than the 405s @ 1600 -1700 FPS I shot some 540 Grn. from a Houch mold, in my Shiloh sharps. I feel a huge diffrence in it and the Marlin. It flat out hurts from prone. It's a big pussycat with the 405s. I've found two guns of t...

Re: 1895CB Reloads

I use 30 grains of xmp -5744 ,in Starline brass. 405 grain FP , cast from Lyman mold. 16 to 1, alloy. Sized .459 , SPG lube. It shoots about 2.00" @ 100 yards & 1700 fps from 22" bl. It hammers hell out of stuff. 300 JHP are a bit more accurate in my gun. I would not give up the wider ...

I was looking through LSN this morning , and there was a Barret like the one I let slip through my fingers.
It is new in hard case with Swarasiyki/Barret scope.

The price
$12,000

Re: what gun you wish

My biggest mistake in gun trading was in 1998. The gun was a Barret semi automatic .50 BMG Included was a Leupold Mark 4 -10x A special high dollar loading press for .50 BMG A bunch of new and once fired brass A bunch of 750 grn bronze bullets A bunch of ammo ,and some other odds and ends. The price...
