50 Alaskan conversion smith?
Looking for a good source to have a Marlin '1895 converted to 50 Alaskan. Am considering Turnbull, Nonnemen, or possibly Wild West Guns. Or. . . . any other ideas? I have heard great things about Turnbull and have had some work by him before and quality was beyond exellent. But cost is a factor as I...

Re: If I already have a .45-70...
I would shoot one before you abandon your .45-70. I had one of each for awhile, then sold the .444. The .45-70 will do all the .444 will and a lot more. Have had a a few dozen .45-70s since, and plan on getting more before it's said and done. Just my thoughts

Re: heavy loads for 45 LC in Marlin 1894 Cowboy
I used to use 2400, but with my LBT 300 gr. WFNs, I found that 20 gr. 'Lil gun powder is a tack driver. As long as the bullets are sized correctly for your bore. More velocity, less pressure.

Re: 357 MAGNUM DOES IT AGAIN!
Nice deer! You know, I got to thinkin'. . . . When I was a kid I shot many deer with a .357 revolver. An old Colt Trooper. Lost track of the deer I killed on a private 80,000 acre ranch for the cowboy BBQs for the cattle roundups. Never had a problem with it not being enough gun. . . . . . EVER! But...

Re: Old Ironsights' "Buckhammer" .357 Mag Load?
I don't know what you guys use, but I use 16.0 gr. ''Lil gun with a 180 gr. LBT FN GC home cast bullet. Beer cans at 300 yards are in grave danger with this load. Shoots so much better then my old load of 2400 as to be incredible. Ooops, thats what you guys said as well heh? Anyway, it's become my f...
