Other 3:16's...Encouragement

With so much flak ever increasing towards Christians be economic, religous, social, etc it is so easy to slip away and say to God "I don't/never know you" whether it is born out of a wish to stay alive in a hostile enviroment that faces our fellow believers in Iraq, Syria, or here in North...

Re: Laid Off? Need work? Post it here and lets network!

After looking at jobs and various job boards both private and civil service, I note civil service pay more than free market which tends to pay much less; I simply for this forum's sake go hmm...

Re: Laid Off? Need work? Post it here and lets network!

Greetings everyone, it's been awhile. I had open heart surgery three months. In my present job (Security Guard, 6 years in the Pacific Northwest weather) I was walking 8 - 12 miles daily up to the day I was placed on FMLA...I'm 58 y/o. I'm used to biking and walking every day but I'm thinking I need...

Re: Laid Off? Need work? Post it here and lets network!

The company I work for has few openings compared to a year ago. I'm still working enough to pay bills though; I'm thinking of a couple of lines of work that translate into a "tentmaker" skill like Paul the Apostle.Perhaps appliance repair.

Re: Laid Off? Need work? Post it here and lets network!

I've been bicycling to work now for over a year and a half and have lost 40 lbs and aiming for 20 lbs more to be at my idea weight. I cycle in all kinds of weather. I have been doing 72 miles a week but now I'll be doing closer to 100 miles per week as I now prepare for next year's Seattle to Portla...

Re: Laid Off? Need work? Post it here and lets network!

At my previous job the company closed Dec 2007 and I got hired a couple weeks later in a completely different field - security guard at $9.90 p/hr and still at it. I was gonna try something else but I'll hold tight for a while. Before that I was in Computer hardware operations - IBM 3800 Laser Print...

OT Preventing wood stock from splitting or cracking.

I'm interested in refinishing a rifle stock giving the stock a matte finish that doesn't shine. After stripping the current finish I want to treat the wood to mineral oil or Thompson water seal and put a finish over that. This will be my GoTo/Truck rifle not a hanger queen. I want to protect the rif...

OT Patching inner tubes in the old days.

Picking brains older than mine here  Back in the '30s and '40s when making do was the order of the day due to the Depression and the "War" (sound familiar?) I'm thinking patching the inner tubes was common and old inner tubes were cut up to make patches for usable inner tubes along w...
