Re: Plated vs jacketed

X-Treme plated bullets are rated to 1500 fps. I have used thousands of them in 6 different pistol calibers and found them very accurate. I also use a taper crimp die with plated bullets and seat and final crimp in separate operations. They have a web site for ordering and and have many calibers in s...

You have to be careful on buying those damascus knives made in the middle eastern countries. Once and awhile you will get a good one, most of the time they are worthless if you plan to use them in the hunting field. Most are made by a blacksmith in small villages and they will use any available scra...

Re: slugging a barrel

When you slug a barrel, it is best to use a pure lead slug such as the egg shaped fishing sinker, or pure lead round ball used in a muzzle loader. If you use a cast bullet that has been alloyed with tin, antimony, it has a tendency to spring back after going though the barrel and can give you a fals...

Concerning your question about using Pachmayr rubber grips on the Lipsey Ruger blackhawk 44 spec. I have to agree with J. Miller's assesment of the problem. Barry's bullets are soft lead with a thin copper coating. From the photo it does appear that the bullets have been sized down by the case during loading. If this is the problem, you will need a larger expander on your sizing die to open the ...
