Re: Anyone shoot a scout rifle?
Cooper had a number of Scouts built in the lead-up to finalizing the concept. The 350 Rem Mag sometimes referred to as Fireplug was renamed the Lion Scout after he used it in Africa. Baby was not a Scout, but the big 460 G&A on the Brno action. I've handled (but never shot) a few Scouts and near...

I've had pretty good luck with most cartridges but the "bestest the easiest" was the 30'06. John Barsness once wrote an article with the premise of one rifle and load to hunt the world (excluding dangerous game), and it was the '06 with various 165 gr bullets over the same charge of 4350. ...

My earliest handgunning experiences as a kid were with plow handled single actions but I shot way more DA revolvers and 1911's as an adult. I picked up a .44 mag Vaquero in the mid-90's and discovered that it was fine with medium loads but could be quite a handful at full throttle. I fitted a Bisley...

That's the big horse pill dosage, it's not good to take every day, and not without a generous amount of water.
My doc gave me a hard time about them so I cut em in half now and try not to take one every night. I sleep a whole lot better with it than without, Piller is right about the efficacy.

Nope, although I aspire to it. I generally have a range load and a field load for a given gun, but about the time I think I've settled on something I'll discover something "better". The perils of handloading I guess.

Anyone used the Large Pistol Primers from White River Energetics?
I recall that when they first came out they were pretty expensive (like every other primer). Republic Ammo currently has them for $49/1000...about 20% less than the going rate for CCI's.

I’m thinking loading head forward would make a heck of a solid wadcutter That's why you solder a 9mm into the 40, then you have a solid. Hmm, maybe a 9mm case full of lead inside an inverted 40 case in front of a 44 case of powder That's what I meant Sounds like some kinda ballistic Turducken!

I've done a variation on that with 3 targets placed at 25, 15 and 3 yards. Use progressively shorter target stands from far to near. 3 seconds is pretty fast - if I pull it off in 3 it generally means I missed the far target.
