Not sure what these would be worth in today’s market. Seemed reasonable 7 years ago. Top box are 30-30s. I have a few boxes of those from the same period and price range. Never felt a need to shoot em. Rather I reload using my own cast lead, resized 30-30 range pickup brass, primers that I paid $15...

A month earlier I could have helped but today all my factory 480 Hornady ammo is packed away for longer term storage. I'd pick a 20 inch stainless in 480Ruger. I have other firearms that cover the lesser calibers. The 480 is one of the most enjoyable cartridges I've ever shot, and I've shot many many. The 480 has a pleasant recoil, throws a heavy lead and the sound is not ear piercing, rather it's more like a low p...

I personally wouldn't change a thing. The effective range is nearly the same for both cartridges in the lever action Winchester. Both are very effective cartridges so nothing gained by swapping.

I had a few boxes of Federal Premium 30-30 loaded with Nosler Partitions. It was good ammo but I didn't really notice much difference in bullet expansion/weight retention with Winchester Power Points or Remington Cor Locks. All three bullets do well in deer sided game and I never had a failure.

Some very good choices by members. I would select two popular calibers in bolt action. Winchester 375 H&H and an FN 30-06. Both scoped with high quality 3-9 glass.

My old, full length, 1894 Winchester rifle in 30-30 was made in 1903. Its has very little wear at the muzzle and the lands look strong. However, the bore is dark and pitting in the bore grooves is pretty obvious. I have not fired it, but have had it in the safe for decades. I am wondering whether t...
