I would bet every one of them pop without a hitch. I've been using a large stash of CCI primers an uncle gave me before he passed that are from the 50's and 60's. Every one has worked and I can't see any difference in performance or accuracy when comparing to new CCI primers that I've bought.

Hi TedH, looks like way too much fun. I think I may need to try one. What kind of batteries does the scope and IR Illuminator use? Is this the one that will hookup to your phone via Bluetooth to record video? The scope takes 4 AA batteries. Regular alkaline batteries will only run it for a couple h...

Hides aren't worth much these days. You might get 10 bucks for one like this. Since this one was a big boy and had a beautiful coat, I took him to my taxidermist for a full body mount.

Thinning out the dogs
My lovely wife was apparently tired of listening to me hint about wanting a night vision optic to help me reduce the very heavy coyote population we have, and got me a Sightmark Wraith for my birthday in February. Mounted on a 5.56 cal AR15, I found that it makes a formidable opponent for the local ...

Here's the BEST thing on your 1892.....it's probably had several thousand rounds out of it...maybe 15-20 thousand and I'd bet my entire Winchester collection that it will feed and shoot better than ANY Rossi that's new in the box. Absolutely. As you know, these have an entirely different feel and s...

A fitting mate for a Colt
Today, I picked up this Winchester 92 to partner with my Colt SAA. Both 38 W.C.F. It's a decent old rifle without a single Bubba'd screw head, wood still proud of the metal, and a bore that looks like it did 100 years ago. The right side of the wrist, for some reason, wears 2 small brass tacks. I pr...

It certainly can be an issue. Look at the eye relief specs before you buy a scope. Of all my couple dozen scopes the longest eye relief is in my Leupold 1-4x20. I mounted it on my No.3 375 Winchester but still had to stretch to get a full field of view. Offset rings would have got it about right, bu...

They are thick as whitetails down where we hunted them. If I lived down there I'd shoot them year round. I much prefer them over whitetail. They taste more like beef to me. Far less "gamey" than whitetail venison.

I am totally ignorant to these deer...are they considered pests? ....or invasive? The Axis deer are Native to India, and were brought to the Texas hill country in the early 30's as a game species. They have flourished in that rugged territory. Apparently able to thrive on cactus and rocks, because ...
