Re: The 25 Calibers

Have had a couple of model 92s in 25-20. First one had bad bore and didn't shoot well at all, the one I have now has excellent bore and shoots great and is loads of fun. However brass isn't easy to come by so that slows shooting down a bit. Also have model 94 in 25-35. Very pleasant to shoot and bra...

Being self taught on these electronic devices I figured out that the do-hicky wasn't connected to the what-you-call it and that caused the thingamig not to engage properly. Thumping it on the side doesn't help but sure does make me feel like I have some control.

Lived in Morton for a couple of years while in grade school. Bought my first gun while living there, Winchester model 37 in .410. Paid for it with my hard earned paper route money, think it was $35. My sister married and stayed there. Later my dad and brother moved back there. In those days one coul...

Saw a very clean one at the last gun show I went to in Brule NE. Made in 1949, I would rate it it about 9+. It was priced at $1850 but could have been had for less. He also had a good box of cartridges that were 250 grains. I'm not up on current prices but think it was a very fair price. Will look a...

Went to the Brule NE gun show today. Nice little show with a little of everything. Managed to find a Winchester Model 1892 in 44WCF made in 1913 with round barrel with a very good bore with good solid wood but missing a little finish and for what I considered a very fair price. The metal is in good ...

I've a Winchester 52C with medium weight barrel that is super accurate. It has scope blocks so I use Unertl 20X on it. The craftsmanship is outstanding. Right behind that is a Remington 513T which is just as accurate but just doesn't have the fit and finish as the 52C. BUT for the most fun its the R...

On really dirty brass I just put some in a sock and throw into washing machine with a regular load of wash. You can put several sock fulls in. After removing from sock place on cookie sheet and put oven on low setting for 45 min or more. Then corn cob them, make sure they are dry first though.
