I use a cricket to coon hunt and for nephews learning , and it shoots every LR ive ever tried in it < mostly bulk ammo > the lock is simple to remove, and I filled the hole with a cut off 45-70 case, with that said if anyone needs a key I still have 1, if I can find it, < which should be no problem ...

I grew up around shephards they are very smart dogs and very protective of the owner and family, what I also noticed about the dogs I was around , is they tend to get grumpy as they age, I am not saying all of them do but out of the 5 or 6 I was familar with about half of them, I did not fully trust...

we used to use co2 cylinders and underwater wick, nice bang, which lead to 1 lb propane cylinder and about 1 1/2 lb of pyrodex and long fuse, put under the arms of broken dish washer. run like h3!! <at least couple hundred yards > plug ears , after the smoke clears..... clean up mess...... shook win...

Dont make no sense either, I can load up a 45 cal handgun or a 44 mag in a handgun, but cant use the same calibers in a rifle or carbine, most of the newer muzzleloaders shoot way faster then older calibers normally found in leverguns, heck my 12 ga sluggun is spittin out hornady sst slugs with sabo...

I have a surefire way of testing scopes for durabilty, I mount them on my browning auto-5 slug gun,< think recoiling barrel ,and 3" slugs > the only scope that has lasted is a NIKON I have probaby returned at least 7 or 8 different scopes over the yrs because either the lenses plumb break loose...

I have a 96 jeep cherokee with 258,700 miles on her, she dont sound too tight anymore < more like a deisel> but the darn thing just keeps running, I did have to replace the distributer last week , but hey $50 and she was back in action :shock:

what I see when looking at these guns is a radical " 410 slug gun" shooting 3inch brass shells and loaded up with something along the lines as a 240 gr softpoint :twisted: might be fun on these ohio deer

gotta love them BLRs, I have owned 2, 1 in 308 and 1 in 284 win I sold the 308 after buying the 284 win, I just didnt use it after getting the 284,

Blaine, maybe you will luck out as I did, when I bought my BLR in 284, I happened to find a guy that sold me 20 boxes of the old winchester superX 125 grain ammo, the price on the boxes was $8.25 and thats what he sold it to me for :mrgreen: you can still get the brass fairly reasonable if you reload

your going to love that gun, I have 2 of them, 1 22LR and 1 is 22 short, neither of them came from the factory D & Td for the scope blocks, my 22 LR with a 10x Lyman STS will run right with my winchester 52B with 20x STS

ever thought about a "hi-wall" its still a levergun and can be had in the 06, only 2 rifles I use on deer is either a 1885 7 mag or my BLR in 284 win, last few yrs ive been using the 284 the most
