Re: rossi mag tubes to Henry style mag tubes
I originally wanted a Henry, and have been casually looking at/for them for the last year or so, but they were never available, and would occasionally pop up on gun broker but never for less than $1200 and often around $1500 which is kind of crazy. also, the 14" LOP on the henry's just makes me...

Re: rossi mag tubes to Henry style mag tubes
Does anyone convert the magazine tubes on ROSSI R 92s to the style like Henry does? It seems to be a safer system especially for unloading. I know, I grew up with Winchesters and Marlins, and we always had to unload cycling the rounds thru the chamber. I am 73, and have never had a problem, but it ...

Hmm, strange. I responded earlier, but my response isn't here. I said that my experience with chickens was much different. I regularly had hens that would try to go broody and sit on eggs and I'd have to spray them with a water bottle every day to snap them out of it. What kind of chickens do you ha...

My new Marlin 1894 in 357 Mag is 16" I'm pretty sure, and I thought my old (2010 and 1980) ones were too. https://stockmarlinarms.com/marlin-1894-cst-38-357-mag-suppressor-ready-lever-action-rifle/ ...but I don't see it on Marlin's website any more... :| ...and I guess the older ones were 18&q...

Well, I've been thinking about a 357 carbine for a while, and would prefer a 16" barrel for sure. I was looking at the 16" henry's but they seem to be non-existant. They pop up on gunbroker sometime, but they go for $1200 - $1500. The new marlins are at least $1200 and don't come with a 16...

are Rossis getting better?
Maybe this has been discussed in the last year, but if so I missed it.
I'm seeing a lot of recent videos that are making new Rossi R92s look pretty good. Can anyone confirm that they may be improving - not suggesting that they were ever terrible - or maybe they were.
Thanks

you probably know this but those scope mount holes can be filled by a gunsmith. I have a 94 that had scope mount holes drilled into the receiver and I had a gunsmith fill them and you can almost not tell that they were ever there.

Good luck finding a .218 bee for less than $1000 in any condition. An original winchester in good condition is going to be closer to $2000. You can't buy a used 30-30 for $500 any more. Any of the niche calibers command a significant mark up.
