I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those, looks like a nice usable shotgun. I bought and fell in love with my only SxS about seven or eight years ago. It is a Sears JC Higgins, made by AYA in Spain. I think it was made in the late fifties if I remember correctly. Mine is a 16 ga on a small fram...

Good shooting. What county? I see a few each year on my place in Texas county. Oh and I guess you didn't get the memo. Gen. McChcrystal said that the .223 was much too powerful for hunting, and no one uses an AR-15 for hunting either. :)

I had a great deer season here in Missouri. I am fortunate to be part owner of some hunting property, not a lot but it is better than none. I also hunt on public ground some times, it is not too bad. Pitchy, I built one a few years back for use at deer camp. Mine uses a 5 gallon bucket and I based it off of the Humanure toilets. After use, you cover what you deposited with some sort of material. Same thing happens with compound bows with sights on them. Shooting at close targets for the hunter leagues, you have to use a lower pin. JT has an article on the 38/55. He states that the long brass(2.1295) was shortened to 2.039 when smokeless powder started being loaded at the factory. Starline calls the short(2.080) case the "standard" and the long(2.125) the "original". They also say that the long can be used ...
