FS: Savage 99F "Featherweight" 300 Savage, pre mil

This is a very nice Savage 99F "Featherweight" 300 Savage. The rifle has a 22" light weight barrel, and hand checkered walnut stocks. It is all original. No extra holes in the wood or metal. It was drilled and tapped for scope mounts from the factory and has Weaver scope bases attache...

Since your rifle is a CS model I assume it was made in 1894 or later. If so, they the sights should fit your rifle. What are the first two digits of the serial number?

I have owned a couple of the model 8 rifles in 35 Rem. They are neat old guns. They have a very unique feel when the action cycles. Both of mine had semi-crescent butt plates that ate my alive after about 8-10 rounds. They are worth having just for the history and nostalgia though.

I just sold one of those myself. They are neat rifles, and pretty darn rare. That is a good price. The MR-7s were very good shooters.

I am with Hobie on the 2.5X Compact. Nothing ruins the balance of a handy little levergun like a big heavy scope. Seriously, how many people will be hunting bears over bait 10 minutes before dark with a 357 mag rifle anyway? The beauty of a 357 rifle like the Marlin is its handiness and light weight...

FS - Rossi 92 357/38 w/16.5" barrel, no safety

Rossi 92 (Winchester 1892 clone) in 357mag/38spl w/16.5" barrel, carbine style butt plate and no ridiculous safety. It is in near new condition with only the slightest of handling marks. This one has some nicely figured wood without the ugly black finish that some of the Rossis have. It cycles ...
