Re: Chronograph education, please?

I find the Shooting Chrony to be extremely tempermental indoors and outdoors. It absolutely needs the diffusers. I think it is a piece of junk. I got myself a Prochrono about 4 years ago and never looked back. I never use the diffusers. I use it outdoors irregardless of cloud conditions: totally cle...

Re: Will the Winchester 30-30 ever make a comback?

I just started using/reloading for .30-30 in a Marlin so I guess it's making a "come back" I dunno if I am representative of other folks' rationales for looking at the .30-30 but my reasons are: I already load/cast for widely popular .308 as my primary so going "laterally&qu...

Re: Lets see you best(worse) hunting attire.

Just about to go out squirrel hunting in New England after a night of raining (11/14/08) - orange vest not put on yet, still by the jeep. The temps were well over 60 degrees just a week ago. Now it' below freezing :( http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x85/bankaydin/L1050499.jpg Later in the day (Mar...

Re: marlin 45 colt loads

Here's mine that I picked up today - Marlin 1894-OHIO #32 out of 250  The load is my standard Ruger load of Laser-Cast 250 gr RNFP on top of 9.6 gr of Unique. This is 5 shots, standing-offhand, indoors at the max of only 50 ft. I only shot 30 rounds and these are the last 5 after sighting i...

Hey txpete, I thought for sure that you had seen this from leverguns.com itself but I posted it here for you anyway.

Re: marlin 45 colt loads

Hey txpete, I just got the exact same gun and am picking it up tomorrow :) From what I've been reading, you can easily get between 30% to 40% more velocity from the 16" barrel compared to a Ruger revolver. I plan on using RCBS 45-270-SAA on top of 25 gr of H110 as my hunting load (should be doi...
