Ted Williams 30-30

Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about the Ted Williams '94? My local shop has one for 300.00 cash(pretty good shape). That's a good price for @ here, but still higher than I would have thought.

Re: Winchester help

That's funny. Ruger collectors like the "plum" color. I assume it's another metal.

Re: More winchester help....

I am really leaning to the 30-30, but have never owned one. I used to shoot a good bit of .308 and .223. I just want a good general purpose rifle round. I know I'm never going to get sub MOA groups with it, but i'd be nice to hit clay pigeons at 100yds. I'd like to get into CAS one day with the wife...

Re: More winchester help....

I can't imagine shooting much farther than 100yds max. I prefer iron sights to a scope, but haven't done much rifle shooting in quite awhile. I am interested in a truck gun, but haven't shot one and can't find one around here. I don't mind opinions, I'm just trying to learn and make a good informed ...

More winchester help....

I know I should do a search, but I'm at work right now and feeling lazy, so forgive me..... I am going to buy my first lever action and am really trying to do my homework. I'd really like a Trapper model for the handy size, but am not opposed to the 20" if I find the right deal. I plan to use t...

Re: Winchester help

Thats' what I thought. They will take off 50.00 if you donate blood every quarter when they host a blood drive, but I felt that was still too high. All guns are overpriced here in Charleston, SC. I see lever guns in pawnshops all the time. Of course, now that I want one, I only find real junk! Thank...

Winchester help

I am looking at a Winchester 94 in 30-30 at a local gunshop. The serial # has the date of manufacture in 1972. The receiver has light surface rust all over it, but the bluing looks very bright. Barrel and muzzle looks great. I'm really interested but they want 500.00. That seems high for a used gun ...
